Suzuki Grand Vitara SQ416/SQ420/420WD

1. Disconnect "minus" (–) a cable from the battery.
2. If there is a system of a pillow of safety, disconnect it.
3. Uncover apertures of a steering column.
4. Incline a steering column, if it regulated. If it is not regulated, ослабьте bolts of a steering column.
5. Uncover a steering column.

1. Remove a bolt of a clip of a cable of the blocking, being on the ignition switch.
2. Disconnect the internal end of a cable of blocking (from outside the ignition switch).

The party of the switch of ignition

3. Having removed a console box, pull out a blocking cable, having weakened counternuts.
4. Pressing of a teeth of a lug of a cam of blocking disconnect the end of a cable from a blocking cam (or a cam of an unblocking of a key). Be thus cautious not to damage a teeth.

1. Turn the ignition switch in position “ACC”.

3. Turn the ignition switch in position "LOCK" (BLOCKING).
4. Remove a console box.

6. Pressing скобы disconnect a protective cap of a cable (4) from an arm of the lever of a choice of transfer (5).
7. Remove a blocking cable.

1. Switch the lever of a choice of transfer to position “N” and turn the ignition key in position “ACC”.
2. Connect the internal end of a cable of blocking to the lever of blocking of a key (from outside the ignition switch).
3. Establish an arm of the external end of a cable of blocking on the switch of ignition and tighten a bolt to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. The inhaling moment (a): 2.2 Н•м (0.22 kg th, 1.5 pounds-foots).

4. Pass and connect a blocking cable.

5. Fix a blocking cam, having inserted a hairpin in diameter about 4 mm (0.15 inches) into apertures of a cam and a lever plate.
6. Establish the cable end on a cam of blocking and a hairpin and, having convinced that the sheet spring pushes the external end of a cable in a direction of arrow B, tighten a fixing nut to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. Remove a hairpin. The inhaling moment (a): 13 Н•м (1.3 kg th, 9.5 pounds-foots).
7. Turn the ignition key in position “ACC”, switch the lever of a choice of transfer to position “N” and check up the following:
   • When the lever of a choice of transfer is switched in position “P” with the pressed button of the handle, the ignition key does not turn from position “ACC” in position “LOCK” (BLOCKING).
   • When the handle button is released, the ignition key can be turned in position “LOCK” (BLOCKING).
   • When the ignition key is in position “LOCK” (BLOCKING), the lever of a choice of transfer cannot be switched from position “P” in any other position.
8. Establish a console box.
9. Establish a cover of a steering column.
10. Adjust a steering column or tighten bolts of a steering column.
11. Establish a cover of an aperture of a steering column.
12. If there is a system of a pillow of safety, include it.

Type 1

1. Put a blocking cable how it has been laid initially.
2. Turn the ignition switch in position “ACC”.
3. Reliably establish a protective cap of a cable (1) in a cover of the cylinder of a key (2).

4. Stretch and attach a blocking cable.

6. Switch the lever of a choice of transfer to position “N”.

8. Connect the end of a cable (1) to a cam of blocking (2), preliminary having turned the ignition switch in position “ACC”.
9. Establish the button of blocking (5) in the cable end, moving it until it will not block lengthening and cable reduction.
10. Having established the lever of a choice of transfer to position “P”, turn the ignition key in position “ACC” and check up the following:
    • When the handle button is not pressed, the ignition key can be turned from position “ACC” in position “LOCK” (BLOCKING).
    • When the handle button is pressed, the ignition key does not turn from position “ACC” in position “LOCK” (BLOCKING).
11. Establish a console box.
12. Establish a cover of a steering column.
13. Adjust a steering column or tighten bolts of a steering column.
14. Establish a cover of an aperture of a steering column.
15. If the car is equipped by system of a pillow of safety, connect minus a cable of the battery and include system of a pillow of safety.
